Went to replace this today with a better franking and noticed the vertical white line on the left stamp does not meet properly at the shoulder. No mention in my Concise, has anyone any more information?

re: 1965 Churchill print misaligment

Hi sheepshanks,

This is down to the colour registration.

The black colour has been printed slightly to the right of the grey.

As a result:

- The white stripe at the bottom is narrower and appears displaced to the right

- The black colour juts out into the right margin

- A small amount of grey appears at the bottom left.

Thanks Nigel, guess I'll keep it on the page as a curiosity, though I might annotate it neatly. ( not a lot of hope of neatness)

But, it sure looks to me like the lower portion of the line is shifted to the right as well as borrowed by a possible shift of he black inked portion to the right.

Bob
