I am stumped I found a stamp, it looks really old. It measures approximately 24mmx26mm, it's hand cut, has a picture of a queen I assume she has a crown on. The only writing is on top and it says half penny.gotta be from the u k.
Sorry the picture thing still eludes me. Hopefully the description will be enough. Thanks for your time gentleman

Nope. There are probably hundreds (maybe thousands) of stamps like that. Need a picture.

There's not even a GB stamp that only says half-penny. GB pre-decimal stamps always also stated postage or postage and revenue

Hi Webb,

This sounds like a cut-out from a British postcard.

A stamp design like this was used on cards from 1878 to about 1883.

As Michael says we need a picture to be sure.

These are the only two "stamps", I could find in my collection, that somewhat meets the description. The first is a postal card cut out and measures 19X21mm. The second appears to be cut from postal stationary and measures 19X30mm. I very much doubt there are 10 much less hundreds or thousands of stamps which meet that description. They were both issued by GB. I've looked through all the British colonies and have not found anything at all close. I believe it must be a postal stationary or card cutout but I have nothing in my rather weak G.B. B.O.B. collection that matches your description.

Thanks for the images Mitch. Happy

The first one is the postcard stamp design that I had in mind.

There were three dies used for this and your example is Die I (with a partial Edinburgh postmark).

The second one is a cut-out from a newspaper wrapper.
