I am seeking members opinions on the preferred paper weights for stamp albums. In order to avoid the confusing U.S. system where weights have different meanings depending on whether you are referring to bond, text, cover, tag or index. I will use the metric system of gsm or grams per square meter. My research revealed the following weights for various album pages.
I generally use 67 pound acid free paperwork make album pages. This weight provides a modicum of stiffness without losing its pliability. I am not familiar with the gsm system you referenced, do I am not sure where 67 pound paper falls using that scale.

re: Paper weights for Stamp Albums
I found 90 lb index to be the best - 163 gsm. Stiff but not overly so and a nice finish. Very comparable to Lighthouse albums. Its also very reasonable on price and is about the the heaviest paper my laser printers will handle. I tried 90 lb vellum but it was a rougher finish, acceptable but I prefer the smoother finish on the index.
Amazon lists this at $8.10 / 250 sheets delivered for prime members :
Springhill Cardstock Paper, White Paper, 90lb, 163gsm, 8.5 x 11, 92 Bright, 1 Ream / 250 Sheets - Index Card Stock, Thick Paper (015101R)

Based on past involvement in printing many various formats for a large co.
Most printers supply houses will provide sample books of all their offerings - a good way to determine your exact needs.
The grammage system gives one a good idea of the paper density but not necessarily the surface quality and stiffness which is more a factor of how and why the paper was manufactured. Important factors for print quality and durability as well as preventing any future adverse effects..
