these are Marshall Islands and New Guinea. GRI is essentially Imperial King George V, in Latin

In Scott, they are listed under New Britain.

However, the overprints and surcharges on these two stamps look bogus to me.

The overprints appear to be handstamped when they were printed. The periods appear to be too large. The "G" should be oval and not circular, and the font is too large.

The first clues for doubt came from the OP wherein it was said that the stamps were found in a box of "cheap material". The inverted stamp alone catalogs over $10,000, and the other a couple of hundred.

I'm no expert on these, and I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be comfortable calling these genuine.
