Is it possible for the 12 perf stamps to have no watermarks or were all of the 12 perfs printed on watermarked paper? I found the stamp lovers' dream and nightmare at an estate sale, gallon plastic bags stuffed with only early US stamps, blocks and a large box of covers. I have been working for about three months to get them separated, organized and now I am checking all of the identifications. This series is driving me nuts. Thanks for your help.
re: I am sure you have discussed this a 1000 times but in the Washington 1908 - 1920 Series
Reminds me of the time an auction-dealer friend, Ed, GAVE me the remnants of a Pittsburgh dealer liquidation. What I found was HUNDREDS of bundles of Washington 2c stamps, 100 in each, each bound up with string.
It took me months to go through those and ID them all, but I very nearly completed my collection from that haul. I was able to get quite picky with centering and other conditions. Also got some nice perfins and RPO cancellations. After I was done with them, I gave them back to him.

I tried putting this together but it is fuzzy. and I left off the hair behind the ear that changes from I to III. I left room to add the IV - VII changes.
