Found this in a older book. It´s a fold letter with a map of Germany and some eastern occupied areas and their Postal codes. Thought it might be interesting as a reference if someone needs it.

Very useful.

Now all we need is the same for the West German 4-digit codes, prior to the present all-Germany 5- digit one.

I periodically attack google for half an hour, and have never found any references. All I get is a note that if you address something with the old code it will be delivered to the new one- eventually. So a correlation must exist somewhere - but d----d if I can find it !

The link below has all the old 4 number postal codes for west and east Germany.
Yöu can type in the name of the city or town at the top left.

The list on the Liepert-Arnstein site appears incomplete, at least it is missing most of the places in the ex-GDR. Alte Postleitzahlen (slightly misleading, as it has only the 4- and 5-digit ones) is better, but is still missing some places which were either incorporated into others or disappeared from the map e.g. due to mining activities between the 1960s and 1993 when the changeover was. It seems complete, however, as of the latter date.
