United States/Stamps : Stamp color: Scott 512a and Scott 512b

Same perf count, but colors are vastly different. Is this an example of Scott 512a (claret brown) and Scott 512b (brown carmine)?

I've never soaked stamps in hydrogen peroxide to brighten the stamps, but I've seen it talked about on the forums. Is this something y'all routinely do?

Looks like 512 and 512a to me. They are common stamps and I see no mystery or problems with them. Hydrogen peroxide is generally used in small quantities mixed with water to remove Brownish "oxidation" from Orange stamps.
