re: Another stamp that needs help in indentifying

i have an old US specialized catalogue from 2006 that you can have for the cost of postage to mail to you. it will be a good resource for you in ID'g your stamps.

Give a man a fish..... but, teach him to fish.

We can help you to use it, too.

PM me if interested.

There are several different qualifiers to consider your stamps identification.
1. They either have a watermark or not.
2. There are 4 different types, related to the triangles in the upper corners.
3. 6 different colors and combinations of above 2.

Your stamp appears to be type IV which was only used in 1895 and was watermarked.
The type was printed in 5 different colors. Even though your scan is poor as to color I
would think it to be Carmine and so being Scott number 279f

And just FYI, I notice a major repair to the lower left. Looks like the corner was ripped off at one time.

This kind of damage vastly reduces the value of an item, and except for extremely rare items, is generally something to avoid.

Thank you so much for all input and advise, sincerely appreciate it.

Yes the bottom bit just broke off due to the paper being so fragile, didn’t lose it ......so got it stuck back to where it was.

Thank you
