Scanned below is a cover from my collection that was mailed from Linden Germany to Hemer, Germany in 1883. The postmark on the front has "LINDEN REG. BEZ. ARNSBERG." Can anyone tell me what the REG. BEZ. ARNSBERG means?
Arnsberg district still exists as an administrative subdivision, and this Linden at approximately 51° 26? N, 7° 10?E (there are many more places of this name in Germany) is now a suburb of Bochum city. Hemer is a large-ish town east of Iserlohn, rather closer to the district seat Arnsberg than Linden.
