I have just started to look at my Switzerland stamps, and mounting them on Steiner pages.
I don't have a catalog, (have ordered Michel Central Europa 2017) but I'm getting somewhere with Colnect, Stampworld and Steinerpages. Placing all stamps in (what do you call it) pockets.
Well, paper. Grilled gum?
I have scanned two stamps with what I think is paper who had Grilled gum on the left, and normal with fiber fragments on right. The stamps is Coat of Arms 2Fr. 1924 and 1933. Is this what grilled gum paper look's like? The left one? There is no gum on the stamps, thy are used, but have a different surface. I have seen this on all stamps in this serie.
I really enjoy working with the Swiss stamps. They are very good made. It's a big difference from the Spanish from the same period I'v just been working with.
I agree with nigel, Tobben. Nice scans! Switzerland is my favorite collecting country for a number of reasons--those grilled gum varieties are interesting to collect side by side with the fiber varieties of the same stamps.
Good to hear bobstew617, I might have a lot of questions as this is new territory for me. Is there some good treads here about Switzerland?
And is there some useful websites I should have a look at?
About the scanns. Scanned at 600 dpi at a simple multi priter. Tweaked them in Googles picture app. -> darken the shadows, increase the contrast litle bit.
