Scott # MC1. Military Air Post Stamp. Cat value used 30 cents and 20 cents mint. Yours looks rouletted so the used value goes up to 60 cents. From 2011 catalogue.

find this on cover, properly used, and you have a wonderous thing

this was issued to soldiers and their families during WWII to allow for airmail. Remember, almost all German transports were smallish twin-engined craft, like Ju-52 and Ju-88, with limited space and millions of soldiers to service. This was intended to give soldiers a space on a transport for their letters or packages.

They are always interesting, but not particularly rare. They typically sell in the $5-$10 range.

These stamps also have three types of gum.

The rouletted has 2 types of gum, smooth and horizontal waves.
The normal perforated has 3 types, as above and vertical waves.
