Hello everyone,
Just joined and it'll take me a while to learn how to navigate this site.
I'm an old collector (started when I was nine) and I'm now 87. However, I enjoyed soaking stamps from envelopes for my collection, and I quit collecting when the self-adhesives replaced the lick-em and stick-em's.
I've returned, and remove the stamps using a chemical and have made my album up-to-date. This means, of course, that now I've got a big hole to fill. I look forward to doing just that.
I also hope to correspond with other collectors...that's part of the fun.
Hey Sleepy,
Your tag 'old guy' caught my attention and prompted my response. You're only 2 years my senior, but I do respect my elders so allow me to warmly welcome you to the family and to suggest you check out the membership list to locate pals who share your own collecting interests.
A must for you is to carefully look at the approval book section-you will find lots to get you started on a family heirloom from grandpa to pass along. Also feel free to ask any/all questions- we are here to help.
musicman - I've read about the Kent Society online but haven't been able to get to where they meet. My movements have been somewhat restricted 'cause of a physical problem, but I hope to go to one of their meetings when I get the chance.
Thanks for you message.
They meet at 7PM and that's the problem. Because of my disability I don't drive at night unless its an emergency.
I hope to go in the summer when the days are longer.
Leon
