re: "No Soup For You!" - On Cover [Auxiliary Markings]
Cover is sent from West Germany to East Germany (DDR). Stamp was blacked out by East German Postal Authorities because it was deemed offensive. The stamp is Scott #930, 20th Anniversary of German Vertriebung, which Scott translates as "expatriation", but a more appropriate term might be "explusion", basically the 1945 flight of refugees from Russian occupation. (I have first hand accounts, my mother was one of those refugees.)
This falls in the category of "Postkrieg" (postal war) listings for which can be found in Michel Deutschland Briefe-Katalog.
Another but different postal war, relating to the decalration of independence of Rhodesia. The label should be self-explanatory:
And lastly, a politically incorrect caricature is rejected by the destination country of a First Flight Cover:

What I'm sharing here is not strictly related to the theme of this thread, philatelic markings, and I apologize if I'm going too far astray. This postcard was posted today on an "old photos" site. It was mailed in 1947. No soup indeed!

The last one is almost a "Dear John" postcard!

I believe the posts that are in question are my responses to another poster who removed their original post that I was responding to. My posts didn't make much sense without the original posts. I guess Al was just doing some cleanup. No harm, no foul.

The "Dear John" postcard made me think about this one. I found it searching for a Guam postcard with my Ben Franklin stamp on it. This one gave me a chuckle so I kept a scan.... nothing like a positive review... "A dirty little place..."

On the "Dear John" post card, I think I have found Jimmy McMahon. "He is a national treasure, as a veteran and also a self-taught folk artist." He still ives at the same address. (interesting):
