Hi Bob,
The first stamp on the left is a British revenue stamp. I come across these when I search eBay for patent in the stamp catagory.

Interesting as is - but when attached to a complete document much more so. If such a document comes into your possession do not cut off the stamp. Valuable as social history ( depending on document)

I think the first Blue one is very cool as that is an actual piece of Sterling silver attached to the stamp and embossed. I believe these were used through the 19th century and possibly a couple centuries before.

The metal on the stamp is a tin staple that was used to fix the stamp to the document.

There should be a paper "cypher seal" stuck on the back of the document covering the ends of the staple. The seal would have the royal initials.

Ooops, I guess the memory is slipping again. Tin does not sound near as good as Sterling
