The stamps sold out of Book 10085 do show up in Greg's items sold list, along with the buyer's name. The approval book (10085), however, does not appear in the active books list.
OK. If you search for an inactive book by just the book number, it doesn't appear. However, and I verified this too, if you search for an inactive book using the book number and a page number, it appears in the search.
No, there is no reason to void the purchases. I have just never seen this happen before. On;y problem this could cause would be a buyer purchasing out of an old inactive book.

"I am the buyer in Mauritius. If the purchases need to be voided for any reason, please do so - no hard feelings. And yes, I found it last night by entering book number, page 1 in Search."
Chris.
I have a few books I haven't listed yet. Please feel free to buy them all.
Actually, I haven't even started compiling them yet - still working on the TITLE. Should be done in 2-3 hours.
But don't let that stop you. Just search under "LeMaven", "Incorrigible", or "Pain-in-The Moderator's-Heiny".
Does this now mean that we transcended L space and created a stamp futures market which will include those stamps not designed or yet printed. If so I am going to start building the warehouse to hold them and issue shares or maybe a start-up fund.
Yippee on my way to a Warren Buffett fortune at last.

re: Stamps Sold Out Of An Inactive Book?
Good work. Spotting this bug after 4 years! WoW!
I know that all books, active or inactive can be viewed by accessing book number, page number. This allows a purchaser to check an item later on, if he needs to. I use it to find material in my old books for example. Was never meant to go beyond giving access to the information on purchased items, if needed. (or listed items).
It never occurred to me that one would use this feature to access and purchase stamps.
Will it also work on very old books, long gone and stripped by the sellers? Potential problem if it does!
Clearly books that are inactive should not allow any sales.
I am in favor of disallowing these accidental sales, as they give an unfair advantage to those who use this feature to jump ahead of the pack. Not what I am implying about this occurrence which is a first, but now that the genie is out, how do you keep a level field, until corrective measures have been taken?

re: Stamps Sold Out Of An Inactive Book?
Chris (anglophile). Naaahhh Tim took care so fast that my comments (which were intended as preventative, if it took a long time to solve the issue) are irrelevant.
The current solution is not ideal, as one needs access to de-activated books for many reasons (checking on a purchase, on a stamp received that may be in error, for cat numbers (when they are in the book) etc.... I use it all the time!)
But it is expedient, for now, closing this loophole!
Since you and Greg have concluded an arrangement and since these will post as "sold" when the book is active, let us not complicate things.
Enjoy your purchase, and wow for the creative approach that led to finding this bug!!

About a year ago - I am sure this is what happened once to me but I just thought I had activated a book when I guess I did not. I just never paid attention to it back then. Glad it can not happen in the future !!
