I cannot find a listing in Scott for the stamps below. They are from the 1932 Italian Somalia set but with overprint of Posta Aerea. One would think they would be listed in the airmail section but they are not. Perhaps they are listed in another catalog or they are "private" overprints. Help appreciated so they can be properly placed in my collection.

re: Need help identifying Somalia "POSTA AEREA" overprint.
Thanks guys for the quick responses. I'd say I am safe in leaving them where they are now on the first page of Somalia air mails:

re: Need help identifying Somalia "POSTA AEREA" overprint.
My 1971 Minkus catalog
1943; Airmail, #272, 276 optd.
H351 50c deep bistre brown 15.00
H352 2L bright rose red 1.25
On sale in Rome only
There is an illustration of the 50c stamp with the POSTA AEREA overprint
I am at a loss as to the color stated in the Minkus catalog of the 50 c value as deep bistre brown as the stamp Mitch has shown looks violet to me, I can not locate this stamp listed as violet in the Minkus catalog. The un-overprinted stamp is listed as Govorners (sic) residence, Mogadishu(Mogadiscio) 271 35c deep blue,272 50c deep bist brown, 273 75c bright rose red.

re: Need help identifying Somalia "POSTA AEREA" overprint.
Fred n' K, Thanks for the additional info. It is good to see that the two stamps constitute a full set and also that they have some value. Also good to add non listed specialty items especially when they attractive and have some value.

re: Need help identifying Somalia "POSTA AEREA" overprint.
Dave, Thanks for the additional info. Only 15,000 sets would make them somewhat scarce. It is also interesting the difference in value of the 50 cent you provided to those of the other catalogs. One would think as they were probably sold in sets that the higher value would catalog for more or the same because the issuance was the same. It's hard to figure what's going on in the minds of the catalog authors some times.
