General Philatelic/Identify This? : German East Africa Font Question?

I found this alternate font overprint when checking some new arrivals against my collection and can't seem to find any mention of it in Scott or online. I'm hoping someone here can enlighten me. I am assuming its a fake but would appreciate some additional opinions.

The stamp in the left has a similar font for the overprint to the rest of the issues I have but the one on the right is the only example I have.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Bob

re: German East Africa Font Question?

According to Gibbons, the overprint on the stamp on the right is a Type 3 overprint. It was applied in 1922 by the government printer at Dar-es-Salaam. It is found on two stamps, the 1 cent black, and the 10 cents orange.

They are Gibbons Tanganyika #72 and 73 respectively.

The corresponding Scott numbers are Tanganyika #8 and 9.
