This week we finally got our new fence installed.

A picture of the back corner where the pool equipment is, showing where the new back gate will be. Note the big tree with the electrical conduit on it...

The frigging fence was one day old! We had a violent storm and down came the 100 foot plus tree!

Here it is from the other side. The tree came down, and another tree this size lost it's top. They took out another six smaller trees on their way down. The tree is laying in a grassy field behind my property that belongs to the homeowners association. I will need professional services to get this out of here!

I feel fortunate that it didn't hit the pool equipment and shed. And that nobody was hurt.

Wow!! Perhaps look about for those who buy/sell firewood to take it off your hands? I suspect they'd be happy to do so if you didn't want to charge them for the privilege.

Check your home insurance policy, sometimes it will cover the cost of removal.
We had a pine come down across the front of our house, fortunately just missing the house, I got the chainsaw out and had fun for a couple of hours.

re: Ya Know, It's always something

I feel your pain. 4 weeks ago we had the first of several violent storms, and a huge tree crushed my daughter's car in our driveway. Not one surface of the car was untouched, but it started right up for the tow truck driver. That tree knocked over another large tree which got hung up in two other trees. That whole mess was leaning over our home. my husband cut up the tree that crushed the car, and the tree guy brought a huge skidder and yanked the big, leaning tree away from our home. It dropped without touching anything. At least three other trees will have to come down before this is over. Three nights ago, we got 3 inches of rain (again), so that will further delay things.

Glad no one was hurt - did the tree even damage the new fence?
