Ian, are you actually trying to upload images to this site? If so try altering the image name. Think there is a thread somewhere here that dealt with the same problem.
Hi Brechinite
It has nothing to do with your new computer, this is an on going problem for anyone trying to upload an image that has a title/name you have already used before.
You can delete the images on your computer but the are held in SOR ,Well the names are and that is was causes the problem ,it happens to me all the time I have to go back and rename the image ,I know it's a pain in the rear.Hypertheticaly you could keep picking a name you have used.We will soon have images with 20/30 letters in !!!!!
Brian
When you say names, is it the code used by the computer (the code/file numbers will be different from different computers), or the actual Number like Scan004, or (004) Isle of Man, MNH, 1997 SG 567-570, cv in 2011 £3.35. i.e. the full description.
How come stamporama allowed 390 images with the same Scan nos to be downloaded from a different computer but refused several others?
How long does stamporama hold the images?

There was talk of changing the rules but I do not think it has happened yet. Currently my images are up to 0166 and 01-66 (66 weeks of images). Only 33 weeks left until I need to switch to Alpha named images so I hope the change happens soon. Its one thing to type numbers, another to have to mess around with letters as part of an image name. Unless of course there is some way for us to go into the images and perform our own deletes (I have 16000+ images and I don't have the time to keep displaying 30 images at a time until I get to the beginning. A simple change might be to allow the images to be sorted by date uploaded and display the oldest first)

That would eliminate mine (and any other) penny auctions! I still think the best way is to allow sellers to delete old images easily. Still, what makes no sense to me is why this is a problem with auctions and not approvals. Every book I create uses the same logic for images. It is price followed by page number. My first page of 5 cent approvals is called 005-1 every time. Oddly enough these images don't appear in the image list in the members area. Where are they? Maybe secured so they don't accidentally get deleted? Do they get deleted when a book is deleted?

I know that would harm your penny auctions but I was trying to stimulate thought and possible answers to the problem.
There is also a difference between the quality of your penny auctions and some of the very, very, very common stamps that are sometimes listed by others.
I assume the Approval System does not have this "Three Times Lock" in it, just the Auctions. That is why you can use the same image in Approvals time and time again.
I run up to 500/600 images for auctions then tranfer them to another folder, then start anew but change the numbers with a letter prefix. It was a lot easier to do that on my 2004 computer than this new Windows 10 Laptop. They call it progress but I have found in all areas that this "improved" system is pretty rubbish.

I too keep my images in folders as those that don't sell here get moved elsewhere and why reshoot everything? I use XP. I dread even upgrading to WIN7. I have a boxed machine (WIN7) in the basement should the XP die. I'd get another XP as a backup, but I am concerned my anti virus software will eventually not be updated in XP. Chrome has become a pain with XP but I am not completely won over with Firefox get. I know, off topic.

Guys, relax... take some deep breaths... if you're in the western hemisphere take that drink of morning coffee or tea... if you're in the eastern hemisphere take a nip of some brandy... let that blood pressure calm down... that's it... now another deep breath... and another sip of whatever you're drinking... now, doesn't that feel better? The problem will be fixed as soon as our resident wizard has a moment to work his programming magic.
I know, he'll get to it. Ian I have fought upgrading for years for multiple reasons. I will NEVER go to WIN10. I may get a Chromebook to use when traveling. I'd consider Apple except I don't like their everything together approach that the iMac uses. The way it looks to me, if the monitor goes, you have a $1500 doorstop. A lot of other problems as well. Yes, browsers are an issue with XP.

Here it looks like they have gone away from the traditional desktop that Windows uses. Actually more people probably use laptops and such than desk tops. I like the large monitor. When I use my wifes netbook when we go away I hunch over it, take off my glasses and do my best to see a 9" screen - which is why I'll opt for a 16" chromebook to take away rather than a ordinary laptop, which is difficult to find without WIN10.
