Can anyone tell me what this stamp is. I can't find it in Scott's. Is there a number in Michel? Others.
I'm guessing this was never issued.
It looks like some BOB stamp for Crete somehow tied into Greece but info is very rare. Also if someone knows how to translate I would be very appreciative.
Hi John,
I also have a few of these stamps, and in my notes: 1905 Woman holding a rifle, with the script “Crete enslaved”
I found this in an internet search at DC Stamps:

Thanks for the link. I saw the rifle and figured it had to do with some kind of struggle. So, it was early Crete Revolutionaries. The stamps were for propaganda and never issued. And it looks like I have a repro of a stamp that is probably low value if any.
Didn't think it had much value, but from a history lesson it was well worth it. Just went down a path of history I have never been down. Just picked up a mix and it was in it so not much invested. Good thing we don't value our time based on the value of the stamp.
