I have what APPEARS to be US Scott #206 but is imperf
Looking closer at the image, it looks like the perfs have been cut off
I have been unable to find any reference or pic of an imperf 206
Does anyone know what this is and cat val?
Definitely trimmed perfs. Looks like it may have the secret mark, but either the image is washed out or the stamp is badly faded to see clearly on my monitor. The stamp won't be worth much due to the damage.

Note that the untrimmed margins are quite large. Some numbskull saw that and thought I can make the only known 206 imperf. It was probably a kid as I think most adults would at least get rid of all the perfs. This is something you will see a lot of and most of them are better than this sad excuse. The stamp is basically damaged on two sides. It does appear to be unused (no gum). It cats for $21.00 and you could actually get $1.50-2.00 for it. I would trim the perf remnants off which will help it's appearance. Use a mini shear if you have one or a metal straight edge and a fresh Exacto knive. I sell a lot of damaged 19th century U.S. on stamps2Go and I am often surprised how much they will sell for. Just be sure that your description is accurate as to thins, tears, cut perfs etc etc

Secret Mark?
Do you have a catalog? If so use it and read the preface and information on the stamps and sets. There were several different printings of this set the "Banknotes" some of the early ones had secret marks. See catalog. No 206 was the last of the 1 cent Bank Notes. The design was changed quite a bit from the preceding ones. So much that they are easier to spot several feet away once you look at them a lot. It would not have a secret mark for many reasons.
