This past week I stopped getting email notifications for anything sales from approval books, messages, etc. I had noticed that my id was suddenly on the email issues list which it had not been for well over a year. I cleared it and it is no longer on the list but emails are still not coming thru to me and my id is not on the list. I had some sales early this morning and a message waiting for me when I signed on. Is there anything else that is causing this now after all of this time and is anyone else experiencing this problem suddenly ? Thanks, Steve
I just suddenly got the 100+ missing emails from over the weekend. Not sure what happened to them and why they all suddenly just appeared in my email inbox..Very odd ! Steve

Me too! I looked at the list and sure enough my name was on it! Then I went to my email and that 100 plus emails were there. Was there a system issue?
If it was just me, I'd think it had something to do with 40+ auctions ending and getting all those near identical emails. That sets off ISPs spam alerts. I've had this same account on AOL for 20 years and haven't had issues.
I also found my name on the list. I thought maybe I had put up 3 books that were really clunkers but then I went and looked and that wasn't the case. I did get emails on my auctions ending

Steve et al,
There is possibly a couple of different things happening here.
1. If you are not getting expected emails from the Stamporama system, but your name is not in the list of members having email problems, then the emails are probably in your SPAM or JUNK folders. Please look for them there.
2. If your name is in the list of members having email problems, it means that at least 5 emails have been bounced back to the Stamporama email server from your email account or your email service provider. Once the system counts 5 email bounce-backs, it flags your membership and will not send you emails anymore until you clear it. In this situation, it does send you SOR Messages to tell you about the emails that bounced back.
Steve, you are using AOL. The link below is to an article that tells you how to set up the SOR email server as "Whitelisted" so that emails will be accepted. The way to do it is to put the email account mailsvr@stamporama.com into your Contacts list and to copy the email that went into your SPAM folder back into your inbox.
Tim - why not all emails from SOR then? I get the DB emails and auction emails. I see nothing in my spam folder from SOR. It's not a huge problem but now I at least know if I am not getting sales messages the reason why. Nothing my provider does or doesn't do surprises me. I wish we had another choice

I checked my Spam Folder over the weekend on AOL - and they were not there. I get alot of Span on AOL which I clear out daily. My name was first on the list and I hit the clear button over the weekend but nothing happened and I still did not get any new messages until suddenly today all of the emails started coming to me in two batches - about 200 total. They were held up someplace - they had the dates from the weekend on them. I will check but I think I had already placed the email id into my contacts list on AOL.. Steve

re: Not Getting Emails Suddenly
AOL can be awful. They have had a habit of simply dropping, and not delivering email that they, unilaterally, determine to have "spam content" - without notification to either side. Unfortunately, emails generated by a server ("transactional emails") are automatically suspect in their eyes.
If you are having this problem (and all the ATT subsidiaries -- bellsouth etc are bad too), I recommend setting up a gmail account to use on Stamporama. Then you have a choice to log in to your new gmail account for your mail, or to have gmail redirect your mail to your regular address. It is a very simple process.

Thanks Michael.
I was not on the list, but I did the unclog filter thing anyway.
Then I went to AOL and added Stamporama to my contacts list per another suggestion in this thread. Let's see if that clears it up.
A while back I remember someone saying that AOL blocks any email with more than a certain number of recipients as spam from a mailing list.
Back when I had ATT, I would have a problem once in a while. I have had gmail for several years now, and have never had any trouble with blocked emails, except for the spam. I think gmail does a great job blocking spam.
