Author Postings lemaven 12 Jan 2017 04:17:40pmI found a couple of these last night.
OS I assume is Official Service ? (like our Canadian OHMS = On His/Her Majesty's Service)
VG shows up on more than a few - another Government issue? something else?
The others are more random or have non-alpha symbols so I assume are private, so not too concerned with it to spend time looking for links.
Many thanks for any feedback.
Dave.

The "OS" perfins on Australian stamps are listed in SG.
The states also had perfins for their own official use including:
"OS/NSW" and "G/NSW" for New South Wales
"SA" for "South Australia"
"T" for Tasmania
"VG" for Victoria
"WA" and "W/A" for Western Australia.
Many of these were on state stamps but some later ones were on Australian stamps.

This may make a nice little extra album page after all!
Many thanks, Dave.

I'm glad I asked as this has opened my eyes to something I would have otherwise skip. Now have album pages devoted to Australia Perfins on cover (none yet) and off (a dozen so far) for each State and Federal Government.
Dave.
