This stamp, offered by a member of the British Cartel, was won by a newbie for an outrageous price. Obviously there was esniping going on, and the newbie bid more then what his maximum should have been.
Is it possible that the Cartel is working with (or even owns!) an esniping service?
A scary thought and I'm sure there are tons of you out there who will swear by your service ... but how many of you bid on Cartel stamps?
I have a lot of sellers, not just the Cartel ones, that I avoid. I have to wonder if that newbie was a shill trying to raise the price and got stuck with his own merchandise.

If you're right then we'll be seeing that stamp again.
However, I suspect the shill was the one-increment bidder below the newbie. He went from $169.50 to $441 ... in three bids ... in an esnipe split second!
