Hi Everyone,
Ernie and Kelly have posted the November 2016 edition of the Rambler. As always it is an excellent read. You can view it by clicking here.
re: The November 2016 Edition of the Rambler is now available
I found Clive (Ningpo) Smith's article about the German Postkrieg fascinating. Just as interesting as the story is the fact that some of these materials even survived and that someone had the knowledge to put two and two together to tell the story.
Very well done!
Steve

That was an excellent article Clive - you are an encyclopedia of knowledge and thank you Tom for providing us with that exciting journey. As I put it together for this edition, I found myself chuckling over the looks of the postal clerks you must have received on your trip. I read the post originally when you put up the thread but as I was putting it into the Rambler, it was truly hilarious, particularly the news truck! I'm glad you were able to get the three envelopes that were turned down on your road trip. Hopefully we'll get a follow-up road trip - I'm envisioning you armed with the USPS Code papers in your hand as you march into a post office (outlet) with a smile on your face and an envelope in the other hand.

I believe the link points to the wrong issue. It looks to be the November issue, as the title page says. My message is not the one I submitted for the January issue, and David was helping me out for a couple of months around November while I had other things going on that I needed to take care of.
