We are almost in the @@@ Cinderella Week @@@ and it's time to crack on with some good stuff.
In the year 2000, The Netherlands issued a stamp commemorating the Bi-centenary of the Rijksmuseum, their most renowned Art Museum which was founded in 1800 in The Hague and moved to Amsterdam in 1885. Rembrandt's 'Night Watch', his most famous work resides in the Museum.
A stamp depicting the famous painting was issued in April 2000 and again in August of the same year in Booklets. Both were printed by Enschede of Haarlem.
So this first giveaway is a large MNH sample/Dummy sheet of the issued stamp PLUS ++++++ a sheetlet of 10 labels of the same design.
Can you afford to miss out ?
Then plonk your name down here on this thread and you may be the lucky winner drawn out of my Washington Nationals Cap next Saturday afternoon at 4pm New York time.
A surprise little 'extra' will accompany the above items which I am sure the lucky Chap or Chapess will enjoy.
Now get plonking ! . Don't forget to keep an eye out for giveaway Number 2 tomorrow as well as the PRIZE DRAW announcement in the Auction section.
re: @@@ Cinderella Week @@@.....Giveaway Number 1, WE HAVE A WINNER ! YEAH !
Oh yes, put me in this contest! When we took our kids - ages 8-7- and six years old - to Amstyerdam we made sure that they saw the giant painting in the Rijksmuseum. The oldest one remembers the painting. I knew it was a large painting but it still surprised me to see how large it was! And that, after the Amsterdam city fathers had it made smaller to fit in the building.
