I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Found this going through box of discarded household items.

Postmark is from Corpus Christi, Texas, but the Thai stamp somehow went through. Either a mistake by the Post Office or there was enough US postage to make the proper rate.

re: Wish They Had Kept the Whole Cover

Wish They Had Kept The Whole Cover.... I say that all the time. Every time I see some 19th Century stamp with partial fancy cancel... Every time I see a used US Zeppelin stamp for sale...

And that's why I save everything as full cover. Even my modern everyday mail I've received with advertising, precancels, bulk rate stamps, vending stamps, vanity stamps and any postal marking! This is the stuff that everyone (including board members here who clip off the stamps because saving the full cover would take space!) tosses. Someday people will be looking for the varieties, usage we don't think to save today.

I pay big money for 1903-08 junk mail with my Ben Franklin stamp on it. Very hard to find perfins and precancels properly used on cover. Interesting corner cards and ad covers too!
