Posted this in the "Show your New Aquisition Discussion Thread", but I think the technical question I was asking went un-noticed. So I am posting again here, hoping to get advice. Should the 5E stamp be returned, is it clearly counterfeit, or is it questionable? Seen on its own, on line, it was hard to assess it size or the specific print caracteristics, but in hand I just have this feeeling that is is not even a good counterfeit job.....Nail Biting
Advice please!

"Portugal Ceres..these arrived today. Been waiting a long time for these, at a reasonable price.
Now a question from our experts. The 5E is smaller than all the others, and the perforation, especially at the top is a bit suspect. What do you think?

FYI, as a reference, on sale at Poppe Stamps, here is one I am using for comparison:

I just have this ugly feeling that my 5E is counterfeit, and will need to go back!
rrr...

PS: I also do not like the 2 R of CORREIO"

re: Portugal Ceres Authentication Help

I do not know of any counterfeiting of these stamps. The design itself is not shorter than the others.

Looks to me as if the person who was perforating the stamps cut the stamp short. I have seen these now and then on other denominations. Just a poorly perforated stamp that makes it nothing more than a filler.
