The last two issues released by the USPS, Sarah Vaughn and the Moon global rate, were released as press sheets, but NOT imperf press sheets. As far as I can tell NO ONE was able to purchase the imperf press sheets - they may not have printed them at all. There has been a great deal of controversy surrounding how the press sheets have been sold - often being sold out before the release date due to sweetheart deals with large dealers.
I contacted the USPS and was told;
"That is correct, we only have the press sheets with die cuts available for purchase. This was a decision made by the USPS headquarters located in Washington DC and the issue is out of our hands.

Now that statement doesn't verify that they were NOT printed in imperf versions, only that imperfs will not be sold out of the cave. I've written to ask for clarification on this question.
Could this herald the end of the imperf era for the USPS?

I read in Linn's where a USPS representative stated that everyone has equal access/opportunity to order all products from the USPS and that no one (even large dealers or companies) gets special treatment. They also said that the USPS is evaluating the press sheets and what kinds they will be offering for sale. I know that when I ordered the Global Moon stamps, I was told that they didn't have any imperf ones at all.
Just out of curiosity, I checked the press sheet page of their website daily watching for the botanicals to be issued imperf. It was NEVER made available online and was sold out before the release date!
