I have either gone blind, or I really need new glasses (or more reference books).

I came across this stamp in a box of many. I have not been able to solidly ID it. The only thing I have to go by is the perfs. It measures 10-1/2 vertically and 11 horizontally. I found 15 of these so far but the only ones with those measurements have Overprints on them and mine does not.

Here's the scanned photo. Hope 600 dpi isn't too big.

Thanks for any help.

In the Scott catalog, US #632(10Jun1927).

We ALL have much to learn. That's part of the fun in stamp collecting. I've learned a lot here, even though I only drop in occasionally.

Enjoy your stamps!

re: Please help ID this Franklin

If you don't own one, I highly recommend buying a Scott Specialized Catalog of USA stamps. You can buy an older one for peanuts on eBay ($7.50 - $15 for a few years old). It has an identifier in the front. Find the picture and it lists all the catalogue numbers that share that picture, with the various perfs and other identifying differences shown. That way, you don't miss any possibilities.

Under Type A155 (this picture), perf 11 x 10.5 would jump right out at you with #632 as the only possibility.

Don't get me wrong, I am not chastising for asking the question, it was a good post. Just using the opportunity to recommend the catalogue.

....and to teach!

This is a good lesson and a good suggestion to many of us!

Thanks, Roy.
