Once upon a time, I was 'breaking my teeth' (to borrow the idiom) trying to sound-out & de-cipher a Hebrew acronym on a postage stamp when someone was kind enough to point-out that I was looking at Siamese, and then kind enough again to allow that the alphabets share a number of letter shapes, particularly when you allow for calligraphy.

And then there is my penmanship skill, which starts out reasonably decypherable and after a page or so descends into a cross between Azerbaijani and Klingon. Qapla'!
