I don't know where else on this site that I can attach my avatar and my motto. I just joined and I'm really excited about being a member. I've been collecting stamps since I was about 15 years old (I'm 79 now). That collection was destroyed and I restarted in the 70s. It's a passion. I haven't done anything with my collection(s)for at least 15 years but in going through my collection, I became nostalgic and would like to get back at it. I am particularly interested in my Bhutan collection but parts are missing and I'm hoping that other members can lead me on to where I can find them. I was also specializing in U.S., U.N., Canada, China and the USSR. I also collect topics (butterflies, nat'l costumes, flowers, etc. I used to haunt philatelic bourses and maybe I'll get back into that if I can find any in my area.
I'm so happy to meet you all!

Welcome to Stamporama!!
Check out our auctions and approval books. I estimated last week that there are probably around 20,000 stamps being offered. That's a nice bourse to haunt!
Welcome! Although technically I think I joined after you. ;-)
I may have some USSR stamps to trade from when I was a child in the 70s. I'll also look for some butterfly copies as my son is very interested in collecting animals. He's anxious to find someone to trade with rather than to just buy stamps so perhaps we can help each other out! He is 10 years old and will tell you that while he collects all animals his favourite stamps are of cats!
It's great how you come back to collecting after so many years away. I found my old collection about three months ago And am delighted that my son has shown interest.
I am so glad you and a number of others have found us here on SOR after rekindling your interest in stamps! This is definitely the place to be to encourage you in your collecting.
Welcome from southwest Florida! I can certainly help you ( off line) with your US, UN, Canada and a whole lot of your topical topics. My duplicates in the above mentioned areas run in the tens of thousands. I've been collecting (my wife would say hoarding) stamps since I was 7 years old and I will be 66 in less than 2 weeks.. I hope I haven't violated any club rules with my response. You will also find much of your lesser expensive items In either the auction or approval section of this site. Many of us are both willing and eager to swap, trade, barter to satisfy each other's philatelic needs. Drop me a line and we can talk. At the moment I am into day 29 of a hospital stay but I assure you I will answer your texts and/or emails from the hospital using my iPad. Any horse trading will have to wait until I get home. Welcome to StampOrama my friend.
