Can someone enlighten me as to why the left stamp is different than all the others I've come across? Proof? Error? Reissue? Just a bad day at the printers?
there are several versions of this stamp: 2911, 2912B, 2912, 2912A, 3132
the front of the specialized has each main design type and the various scott numbers associated with it. it's where I look when I want to see if there are different versions of a stamp.

Two different printers. The darker one was printed by the BEP (Bureau of Engraving and Printing)and the lighter one was printed by SVS(Stamp Venturers).
Other then the basic shape of a Wurlitzer jukebox, there are a whole lot of differences between them. Almost all the detail is lost in the lighter colored one. What detail there is looks very different from the darker one.
In researching, 2911 & 2912 were the two issued in 1995, the others in '96. There was reference to the lighter color and larger "1995", but no other mention of differences between the two. I only have the one example of the lighter one, would like to see others for comparison.
Thanks for the input guys,
WB
