I should probably be able to recognize this stamp, but I can't. Almost done going through my childhood world wide collection -- this is the last mystery & appreciate anyone who can "Name that Country." Does not appear to be Japanese, but could be wrong I suppose.
Thanks,
Eric

Just read up on this series of stamps. An odd juxtaposition of Mt. Fuji (Japan) and Mayon Volcano (Phillipines). When I first saw this, I though I recognized Mt. Fuji, but was put off by a second volcano next to it. Who knew they were photoshopping back in 1943!
My dad was in the Army Corps of Engineers during WWII, and was in Phillipines at one point. No idea if he ever saw Mayon Volcano.

re: Another Mystery (Japanese)
I try to have these stamps both on a Philippines page and one in the Japan section titled "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere."

"A strong typhoon swept in November 1943 in the country. A set of semi-postal stamp series was issued in December 1943, after a strong typhoon caused massive flooding in order to raise funds for the victims . Then Japanese sponsored the Philippines with overprinted “ Baha†(Flood) to raise additional revenue for the cash strapped government. The flood killed countless numbers of people and animals."
