I have been curious about quantifying for Approvals the volume of stamps sold in any one week. I have devised a simple method to look at just the New Books (7 days) and measure their sales. This is a spot check, not a statistical analysis. Books get added and books drop out of the "New Books" list all the time, so if anything, I am therefore undecounting, plus I am not adding sales in books older than 7 days. And this is now, which will be different than later or another day, but I think it is indicative of traffic!
So here is my tally for the current 7-day sales in the New Books listed under Approval Books :
3,321 items sold!
6,737 items listed
49.3% sold

re: Some Numbers, for my fellow nerds
Wow, that's a lot of stamps to list and sell in a week, do you sleep? I'm curious to know what the dollar amount of stamps sold was? It might encourage me to list items here, however I don't know if I could list close to 500 stamps a day.
3,300+ in a 7 day period? I'm impressed! I still say SoR approvals are unique to the marketplace. There's no place else where you can view and purchase lower priced material so easily.

"Mitch/Antonius don't think it was meant as those Ralph had sold but totals of sales from all sellers."
Thanks for clarifying. Yes Mitch, numbers for all sellers, and all buyers for the last 7 days. Still pretty amazing, even if I have to disappoint you!

It is an amazing number of stamps sold. I wonder though (and if I had the time I would figure it out) what percentage of those same books sell in week two and week 3? I can tell you for me its less than 10% unless a steady buyer was away. The question remains - if you have 200 stamps do you put them in one book or do you put in 100, wait a month and add the 100 others. I lean towards doing that but I don't have the time to do more than 3 books a week.
