#2: doesn't a denominated tab always spell r-e-v-e-n-u-e?
If memory serves, the smaller bit is usually gummed (to remain on the thing for which the tax was paid), and the larger bit (the receipt) is not.

"I collect stamps today precisely the way I collected stamps when I was ten years old." Tom42 28 Feb 2016 05:04:00pmre: Mexican Stamp Help TIL Denominated tab! Googled up an article in linn's. The small part is called a talon.
So some BOB revenue stamp.
Thanks for the clue Ikey/Pikey

"doesn't a denominated tab always spell r-e-v-e-n-u-e?"
In a large percentage of the time, yes. However, Italy, Italian Colonies, San Marino and Romania have two part parcel post stamps. Login to Like this postwww.hipstamp.com/store/the-online-stamp-shop ikeyPikey 29 Feb 2016 09:45:27amre: Mexican Stamp Help Well-spotted, Michael#s!

"I collect stamps today precisely the way I collected stamps when I was ten years old." RobertMG 29 Feb 2016 03:55:04pmre: Mexican Stamp Help I was wondering if there more to the first photo you posted. Is it printed on an envelope, banknote, piece of stationary or is it a cutout?

(My guess is that there are folks here who would not easily find what you/I find/found, so I like to see the links posted. In the particular case of Linn's - to which I do not subscribe - it only seems fair to facilitate traffic to their site in return for reading their stuff. Hmm; actually that's true for every site. Lastly, embedding the links builds the value of SOR.)
