If you get tired of scan'n'post, you can try:
Stamp World is a good place to start if you are starting from scratch ... it has a fast, east, scrolling format ... with filters to narrow choices quickly
The Swedish Tiger is another quick-scroll identifier ...
1847usa is detailed & authoritative, once you know a bit more about what you are looking for
US Philatelic Classics Society ... for when you are ready to make a life out of 'em
US Washington/Franklin stamps (1908-1922) a specialty site for the "Third Bureau Issues"

I was going to echo Carolee's comment: your stamps ARE old; they are NOT rare. it looks to be a nice start for someone wanting to put together a US collection. Your German stamps in another thread are similar: old but not rare.
They ARE lovingly assembled and nicely mounted, so the previous owner did a nice job. If you decide you like collecting, this is a good start, and ikey has given you some free sources through which you can get a better understanding of what you have.
