When I was six or seven, my aunt gave me a Whitman stamp album for Christmas. So for fifty years or so, on and off, I have collected stamps. Many things have changed with me, and with stamp collecting, I suspect many of you have similar experiences. Through the years, I have renewed and stopped collecting stamps. Now, though, I have a new experience. Philatelic Crack, otherwise known as Ebay. You can't talk stamps with others in your circle of acquaintances, but it looks like you can talk stamps here, with a passion and level of expertise not found anywhere else.

Yeah, many of us have succumbed to the lure of eBay-ajuana. Just think of Stamporama as a 12 step program, and when you feel the pull of the "drug," come to a "meeting" and stay until the feeling passes. Welcome, aboard!

Just lurking around for the past few weeks, I see that the level of information is top notch. It is singularly impressive. I have lived my life and have read books and periodicals, and they all have been valuable, but here, you can interact with collectors who may know their particular niche far better than any national publication, or international catalog. I will sit back and try to absorb as much as I can.
