I got the Air Mail stamp about 20 years ago. It came from a P.O. in a town of less then 400 full-time residents. I don't know of a commercial or private airport within 100 square miles of there, so I'm not sure they used it too many times. When I asked about it, the current postmaster said it had been there as long as he had. I'm not sure how long that had been, though.
It's a fun thing to have and over the past 20 years I've stamped all the kids and grandkids with it, at least once.
Do you suppose the Biplane is any indication of age or just a whimsical image produced well after WWII? A Google search pulls up nothing on the company that made the stamp.
