General Philatelic/Gen. Discussion : The Mad Sorter
Author Postings philb 27 Dec 2015 11:20:14amAuctions At last i have a definition of myself...more than a hoarder, more than a collector...i am a Sorter ! i will take a shoebox of a thousand stamps at random and sort through it..if all goes well i will find one or two that go into my albums and a couple to list in the auction..so you see the accumulation never really gets smaller...whats 6 stamps out of a thousand ?

"If a man would be anything, he must be himself." ikeyPikey 27 Dec 2015 12:19:37pmre: The Mad Sorter We can break the whole process into emotional components:
- the treasure hunt / rescuing ... from pawing thru the pile
- creating order in the universe / defeating chaos ... from sorting into little piles
- creating permanence / cheating death ... from albumization etc
Stamps may be little, but stamp collecting is HUGE .
Cheers,

I do believe I will spend a few hours searching the 'net for job lots and a buy button!
