Do any of you experts looking at this know if there's any chance that it's a 482A or other valuable stamp, or simply a 409 or other stamp of lesser value? I can't find a resource that explains how to differentiate them.

I am not an expert but, the stamp you show has the denomination spelled out as two cents, the stamp you hope it is is 2 cents, so being that 482a and 409 are 2 cents eliminates the possibility of the stamp two cents you have shown being 2 cents.Happy

If it is DL watermark, should be scott 344, SL watermark should be scott 384. Both are issued imperforate and this looks to have a Schermack type 3 private perforation.

The special perforations from the Washington-Franklins are listed in Scott United States Specialized catalog under Vending & Affixing Machine Perforations section.
