Thank you, I was figuring on that being the case, but wanted to make sure. Value isn't as disappointing as not being able to add it to the collection. The hunt continues!
Rob, while you got the answer you expected, and not the one you wanted, I hope you keep the selvage attached. It helps to document the stamp's position on a sheet or pane (sorry, don't know Israeli production) and distinguishes it from other stamps from the same pane.

"Save the USPS, buy stamps; save the hobby, use commemoratives"
Oh yes, absolutely. It'll stay as posted. It will go into the WW book, just not into the Israel specialty album. Aiming for complete '48-present, MNH w/tabs. As well as, block sets and s/s.
The journey at this point seems rather endless, but with a lot of luck and a little focus I should get there.
"Carpatho-Ukraine, with its single, short-lived stamp"
Ah, but Scott has moved it into the regular Czechoslovakia listings since it was issued in Prague as well as the province. It is Czechoslovakia Scott #254B.
As others have pointed out, this is not the tab but it is a part of the selvage of the stamp sheet in the upper right corner where the cyclometer stamp (the sheet number of the run). It has no add value. Interestingly, this stamp was later reprinted in 1969 with a tiny detail change in the tab stating "Reprint1969"
