Latin America/All : Barbados 61b piece

This is Barbados Scott #61b, which is only listed as "Half used as 1/2p on cover" but as you can see I only have a partial piece. What would be the value of this, versus the listed CV on cover?

Thanks.

Peter

You might just need to read this thread (third post down in particular), as it may have some bearing on your example:

re: Barbados 61b piece

Wow! Thanks. That third post is excellent! This is the key phrase to me.

"There are no genuine known recorded bisects of this issue in this period. In fact Barbados, unlike some other Commonwealth countries, had almost no bisects other than a small number of seated Britannia's in 1854. Anything else therefore is probably a fake."

What struck me about this piece is not only the cancel looking different from other "bootheel cancels" in my Barbados collection but also that it was bisected vertically; in other bisects I've seen, it has almost always been on the diagonal. But the argument in the quote above seals the deal.

Cheers,
Peter
