Greetings everyone! I joined Stamporama about a year ago, but have just started being active. I am a U.S. and worldwide collector. The U.S. dates back to my childhood and includes a lot of material I inherited from my father and grandfather (a Madison, WI postmaster in the 1920s to 50s). About 10 years ago I decided I was close to having just about everything I could afford in my U.S. collection (although I still purchase new issues). Because I love to travel and learn about the world, I then started collecting stamps that show the history, geography, culture and native flora/fauna of all countries. To me, collecting is more about what the picture on the stamp tells me about the issuing country rather than the value or rarity of a stamp. I’ve bought numerous large lots so I have 1000s of duplicates that I’ve now pretty much managed to sort into stock books, so you can be sure I’ll be both buying and selling in auctions and approval books soon. I would also be very interested in trading with members on a 1:1 basis (it’s too much work to look up values for all but the most expensive items, and we all have different sources!) That’s all for the moment, but I’ll keep in touch!

Glad you are taking the plunge with the Approvals--they are a GREAT way to sell stamps here.
I am one of the 2 auctioneers on the site and I want to say PLEASE do not hesitate to ask your questions--there are many knowledgeable collectors who are able and willing to share.
I will PM you regarding your trade offer--I have an ad myself for trading the very way you like.
