"vacation setting": you can make your books "inactive" and then, when you return, re-activate them.

We generally travel for about 6 months of the year - 2015 has been a little different because we have been busy building a new carport for the recently arrived (new/different) camper van.
I bet inverters over there are a lot cheaper than here..
Yes we have an inverter, Just big enough to run the Hot Hair rollers for my wife and charge all the Computer, phones, ipads etc. but at the moment only have one 100amp "house" battery. Also have solar panels on the roof of the van.
Later I will have two x 120 amp Batteries - then I can get a bigger inverter.
There are a lot of small and portable gas powered AC generators available these days, from companies like Yamaha & Honda just for camping that should work for you.
I love camping, but don't like car camping, just a tent and sleeping bag. Sometimes if temperature is above +25F go without sleeting bag or tent. But I never go camping in Michigan or Minnesota without my 357 magnum handgun. The 6" barrel makes it deadly accurate for just about any predator that I meet up with. I always go camping alone, so I can talk to the great spirits out there. It is way more uplifting than any church.
I love to fish, hunt, pick mushrooms, huckleberries, and whatever else doesn't eat me first.
Yeah back in "the day" Under 30 and un-married I did that, but now Im nearly 70 and my wife and I like a bit more comfort.
Not many dangerous animals in OZ except for fellow man.. So my handguns went in a Gov't buy back over 10 years ago..
Realised enough profit from them to pay for the kitchen in my (then) new home. I have a Yamaha 1500 but only use it when a group of us go away together.. Generators are frowned upon by lots of campers here because so many people are not considerate of other campers, also a bit of hassle to store the fuel etc.
Roy,
Thanks for the tip, I'll be checking that out shortly.
