Club Business & Announcements/Tech Advice : My emails FROM Stamporama (invoicing, discussion board, etc.) are bouncing back - How do I correct the issue?
Yesterday and today I have been receiving the following messages on Stamporama through the Message Board -
"Your Emails have bounced back more than five times. Emails will not be sent but the email content is included in this message. If you don't want these messages sent, correct the email bounce back issue or set the flag in your membership profile to turn them off."

This is going to have to wait for Tim's return, as we need to find out WHY the emails are bouncing back, and I don't know what email account the bouncebacks are going to.
I'll try sending you a PM to see if it comes back.
The thing you can do at your end is to put stamporama.com on your "whitelist" on your email account. I.e. allow all emails from *@stamporama.com, regardless of whether your system thinks it is spam.

OK Roy - I forgot that Tim is away.
The problem seems to have started 7 Sep 2015 19-10-01. There have been ten bounce back messages since then, all from the discussion board. There are no other bounce back messages from invoicing, Approval Book sales or personal messages from other members. I have no auctions listed at the moment and I won't list in the auction until I figure out what is going on with these bounce back notices. I do however, have quite a few Approval Books listed. I'll check to make sure that there are no items showing from these books to be invoiced, although I've received no email notices re sales of items from the books.
On the Stamporama message board, the messages are showing as coming from Admin Admin (ADMIN) and then there was a regular message from you. Haven't seen a bounce back notice for your message YET.
I'll try to figure out what you mean by 'white list'. There are no emails from Stamporama in my spam folder (lots of others though) and I think I have it set on my server that ALL emails come through for me to decide if they are spam or not.

CORRECTION
I received a message from you Roy on 8 Sep 2015 at 14-53-19 showing it came from Roy Lingen and then I received a bounce back message from Admin Admin (ADMIN) on 8 Sept 2015 at 15-10-01.

ROY - mailsvr at stamporama.com is already on my safe senders list and is NOT on my blocked senders list.
mailsvr is the address showing as the sender for previous Stamorama Discussion Board emails that I still have showing in my incoming emails prior to 7 Sep 2015.
I have now added *stamporama.com on my safe senders list.

Adding additional entry to allow all *stamporama.com emails DID NOT work.
I also changed settings on Telus email to keep all messages on server for 10 days.
No email message appear to be getting through to Telus email server from Stamporama as nothing is appearing in incoming, spam or junk email folders on Webmail.
Could Stamporama be blacklisted with Telus for some reason?
Will wait for Tim to return...... I'm completely puzzled with this problem.

I have the same problem with gmail. All of a sudden it started to bounce. this is the third time it happens, earlier errors could somehow be fixed by Tim. I have now switched to yahoo and that seems to work. For the time being at least.

Here is the explanation Tim gave the last time this happened (about 3 weeks ago):
"The problem is that sometimes the email system pushes out too many emails. There is a limit set on this new server that we didn't have on the old server. It is not an unreasonable limit and is there for good reasons. I need to make some adjustments. I'll fix your situation as soon as I have corrected the problem."

As of this morning I have been getting StampoRama messages through Yahoo.

I go to the members area, click on the Members e-mail problems, then click on the "clear my e-mail filter"

Since I am 1 beer short of a six pack, what exactly does "After looking at the list of Usernames on the left, if you feel that your Username is listed here incorrectly and would like to clear your email address from the filter on outgoing emails, please press the following button." My Username is listed, but I am having no problems receiving emails. What will happen if I press the button to clear my email field?

That list was prepared by Tim at a time when there were mega issues with the email function. I am also on the list, but my problems have long been resolved. Don't be concerned (go look for that lost beer, much more important at the moment)

I did that Grorod and now my name does not appear on that list. When I checked yesterday my name was not on that list. This problem with my emails from Stamporama has just cropped up in the past few days.
I'm just waiting until Tim returns from his holiday and then will try to address the problem.
In the meantime at least the bounced messages are appearing on the Message Board so I can see messages being sent to me from a member regarding invoicing, payment or purchases.

Hi everyone,
We're having a great time away with our family at Sodus Point NY. Jan-Simon was correct in his posting above. There is still something in the system that is sending out emails that I need to catch, which I will do when I get back home. I have cleared the email filters so your email notifications should go out as per normal now.

Liz, okay, I had shut off the approval notifications. Not sure why I did that, but I turned that back on. However, I did not shut off the auction win notifications.
I guess I'll have to go and buy a few items in approvals and auctions to double check this. Now to figure out which member(s) to buy from....
