OK, so who has been moving things around in my stamp room(s), first my penny black that I put safely somewhere and now cannot find. Good job I have a scan at which to look.
Now today my perforation gauge seems to have gone for a walk. Despite turning boxes, paper files, looking in catalogues, albums and everywhere I can logically think of and some that are just plain ludicrous, zilch.
Are there such things as malevolent philatelic spirits? Or is this the onset of dementia. Cannot blame my good lady wife as she steers well clear of my stuff and it is no use at all in her quilting, unless of course she is stuffing the quilts with stamps.
Anyone here in touch with the spirit world I'd appreciate some clues please.
Dianne is always hiding things on me! It's like really? You have nothing better to do than hide that perf gauge?, glasses?, pen?, pencil? When I finally find it and tell her, good job! That's my only connection to the other world as we know it.

"Appreciate the beauty of nature. You never know when life will deal you an unplanned twist of fate. Enjoy things while you can, because you just never know."
After yet another run through today I am pleased to announce that the perf gauge has turned up, sandwiched between some presentation packs within an envelope.
Now if only the Penny Black would make an appearance it would be great.
Enjoy your labour day holiday folks (Canadians)at least the sun is shining here in Manitoba.
Here is a scan of the PB should anyone find an extra one.
I heard it said, maybe it's an old wives tale, but I too have experienced it, some spirits about us like to play little tricks on us. These tricks include hiding from our site little items that we could swear were just laying in plain view. The items reappear when we acknowledge the presence of the spirit. It's their way of letting us know that they are with us.
Too much energy from the sun affects their sensing equipment.
When I was writing my novel "The Whitechapel Fog", which is based on a true story, I was often visited around 4:00 AM. I would awake, the bedroom would be freezing cold. One of these days I'll, write about those experiences, some of which were quite frightening and did occur in the day time.
And what kind of devilish spirit is it that makes you drop a stamp and then causes it to become completely invisible...often for days before reappearing?
I collect airliners. I don't have too many, of course, because storage is BIG problem, as you can imagine. And one item has gone missing, the boarding stairs for my Western Airlines Electra II. If I want to do any restoration work on the interior, I guess I'll have to use a ladder. Here's a photo of the airliner, before the "air stairs" went missing.
I guess I should mention that it's not a real airliner, but a 1/144 scale diecast model.
Here's a strip of Portugal stamps picturing an Electra II:
Yippee, after a couple of days of going through envelopes and presentation packs, my PB turns up in the back of a stock book of German stamps together with some mint blocks of early Machins. No, haven't a clue why I put them there, maybe that's what we do on this other planet and I'm sure some of the people I work with are from another planet entirely and I'm beginning to think one of my sons is an alien.
Beam me up Scotty!
when both of my sons were very young, we took a family trip to Roswell, NM. I am certain that the two "boys" I brought back home after that trip were not my original sons.
I have been considering taking my two grandsons to Roswell. Maybe I'll get my two sons back?
"If you work on plastic models, and you drop a tiny part on the floor, good luck trying to find it anytime soon. "
Us model car builders say that the model gods steal those parts to get back at us for the models that we lit with firecrackers back in our youth! I think the fact that some of those models are now worth hundreds of dollars is penance enough!

re: Missing
This is why I have four sets of reading glasses, (Five if you count the one with the broken frame). Six canes, several magnifiers five useable Tongs, at least three perf gauges.
