Thanks for sharing this. I think cinderellas are a fascinating area. It is my impression that even though most had tiny print runs, much smaller than even some of the most scarce stamps, they don't command high prices on the collector market. I suppose that is because every single one was printed to be saved. These are visually striking examples.

Nice.
Calling your attention to the first stamp you posted and the figure with the sword dressed in gold...is that supposed to be Joan of Arc or a guy dressed in drag?

Thank you Hungaryforstamps!! I was thinking the exact same thing. I was going to ask an "artfully phrased" question to the same effect but reconsidered in light of a recent dust up surrounding a Bruce Jenner comment. It certainly is a funny looking stamp!

@Hungary...
Since she has the Phrygian cap, I would think it would be Marianne.

Hi Everyone;
I have always been fascinated by Cinderellas. Thanks for posting those. The only reason
I don't collect them is the difficulty of identifying them. I don't want collecting stamps to
become a research project requiring a research grant. Just don't have the time.

Very nice Cindys. I have accumulated my share over the years in collections and mixed lots. I will bid on them occasionally when they catch my eye but do not really collect them seriously.
Here is a good site for referencing many Cinderellas: http://www.cinderellas.info/wittcoll/collection.htm
