re: Saudi Arabia HELP
Not Saudi Arabia, but part of South Arabian Federation. This is the geographical area of Aden and Yemen that underwent a great deal of political turmoil in the 1960's. This stamp is not listed by Scott, and is only mentioned in the Footnotes in Gibbons Commonwwealth catalogue as "having been issued in excess of postal needs or not been available to the public in reasonable quantities".

Actually since the late sixties...and as a result more than 5000 dubious stamps were issued in this part of the world...between the Trucial states, Yemen, South Arabia, and various rebel governments. They fed the collector's trade channels but were seldom used.
They are collected, although some people also refer to them as wall paper stamps...I must add that not all them deserve the label!
I think only Michel does justice to some of them in their catalog. I also noticed that their prices have jumped significantly in recent auctions.
It can be quite a challenge, if you want one.
On covers, many of these are quite valuable.

They are popular in Europe and in the Gulf States. Some do carry a good catalog value, and sell accordingly at high prices. I think the Michel catalog is quite comprehensive on those issues. There is a Minkus catalog of this area that was published back in the early 1970s.

re: Saudi Arabia HELP
I am looking for Saudi Arabia Hejaz #L1, #L2 and #L3. (1916) I currently have the #L3 perforated 10 but I am unsure about the legitimacy of the perforation. Scott warns of forged perforations and I have seen plenty of these...actually every one I have ever looked at with the stated right perforation, has been off.
These should be perforated 10 or 12, but I am not sure if they are available in both perforations for L1. Does anyone know? Or any mixed 10x12 perfs. My L3 is 10x10. I will try to post a scan.
Scott #L8 to L13 are perforated 13, and are quite common. So are L4-L7 (imperforated).
I have NEVER seen a seller on the internet correctly identify #L1 to #L3. They are usually L5-L7 or L10-L12 or they have forged perforations. Would be nice to eventually fill this collection gap, and clear my doubts about the L3!
Does anyone at SOR collect early Saudi Arabia?

The other two values appear as SG 2-3 for perf. 12 and SG 5-6 for perf. 10.
There is no SG 4 so I guess a perf. 12 quarter piastre perf. 10 was listed at one time but was subsequently deleted.
The only other other stamps listed are SG 3a which is for perf. 12 x 10 or perf. 10 x 12 and two other shades of SG 6, SG 6a pale blue and SG 6b dark blue.
