Anyone have any insight to the ID of these Turkish stamps? To me, they appear to be Scott# 32, but there are clearly differences in the amount of "rays" coming from the star.
Actually using only one catalog brand leaves many stamps omitted. For example I use Gibbons and Scott world wide with Michel for Europe and the Gulf States. All three catalog publishers have enough differences between them to keep things interesting.
The nice thing is that you only really need one set to track values. The others can be simply reference books. Older catalogs can be found on the cheap. The major differences with the different catalogs is usually with the older material.

re: Turkey stamp ID help
Beware of counterfeits of these early Turkish stamps, and in particular of the higher valued ones. The rays on the star are a often a clue. (especially Scott # 23).
For # 32 there are a lot of printing varieties, and I would watch the perforations as well as centering framing errors, which abound.
Here is a photo from a few of the Sc # 32 stamps I have (the last 3 are centering errors). You can see the variations in the rays of the star. Also, watch the perforations.
